Provo Library Field Trip

Let’s Go Birding!

Saturday, September 12 • 9:00 AM • Provo River Delta

Join FeatherQuest and the Provo City Library for a morning bird walk at the Provo River Delta. We’ll slow down, listen, look closely, and see what the delta has waiting for us.

We made a September field worksheet for the adventure with seven Common Finds and three Uncommon Gems. Bring it along and mark what you discover—even if the birds decide to change the plan.

What We’ll Be Looking For

Familiar finds, marsh voices, and a few birds worth hoping for

Our Common Finds are Red-winged Blackbird, Song Sparrow, Great Blue Heron, Killdeer, Caspian Tern, Black-capped Chickadee, and American Coot. Our Uncommon Gems are Sora, Marsh Wren, and Belted Kingfisher.

The worksheet names specific species, but this is a discovery walk—not a test. If we find another member of the same bird family, we’ll count the discovery and figure out together what we found.

Provo River Delta

We’ll meet at the Provo River Delta for the 9:00 AM field trip. The wetland, marsh, shoreline, and open water give us plenty of different places to look—and listen—for birds.

Field Trip Recap Coming Soon

After the walk, we’ll update this page with the birds we found, favorite moments, photos, and highlights from the adventure. In the meantime, see what we discovered on our last Provo Library field trip at Rock Canyon.
